Superintendent Alan Chung of the Criminal Headquarters of the West Kowloon Region of the Police said that the crime squad took over the investigation. After searching through closed-circuit television and intelligence collection, it identified a criminal debt collection gang with triad background and launched arrest operations. They were arrested on July 28 and On August 6 and 7, eight Chinese men (between the ages of 16 and 30), including two 16-year-olds, were arrested on charges of criminal damage and conspiracy to commit criminal damage.

The police believed that the key members of the gang had been arrested, and one of the arrested persons had been charged with one crime of criminal damage and pleaded guilty in court and was immediately sentenced to 7 months in prison.

The rest were released on bail and must report to the police early next month.

The case occurred on the evening of the 22nd last month. Police received a report that six Mandarin education centers in Central, Lai Chi Kok, Tseung Kwan O, Hung Hom and Tsuen Wan belonged to the same group. They were exposed to red oil and posted numbers at about the same time. .

In the early morning of last Tuesday (3rd), a stolen seven-person car driven by a gangster in a branch school in Kowloon Tong crashed into the iron gate of the branch school. The gangster succeeded and fled.

Alan Chung said that the number of criminal damage cases involving collections in the West Kowloon Region is on the rise. There were 32 cases in June and 51 cases in July, an increase of 60%.

He pointed out that any person can only collect debts through legal means, and the police will crack down on illegal debt collection operations.
