The commander of the Internal Security Forces in the Iranian province of Khorasan, Brigadier General Nasir Farshid, announced the arrest of four smugglers and the seizure of 339 kilograms of drugs in two operations in the city of Nahbandan in the eastern province of Khorasan.
Fars news agency quoted Brigadier Farshid as saying in a statement to reporters today that the Internal Security Forces stopped a car they suspected of at a checkpoint in the city of Nahbandan, and when inspecting it, they found a package of drugs weighing 136 kilograms and 200 grams. In this context, two smugglers were arrested and they suspected a truck at a checkpoint. Sahelabad in the same city, where a shipment of drugs weighing 202 kilograms and 850 grams was seized and two smugglers were arrested.
The Iranian authorities continue their campaigns against drug smugglers, as they recently thwarted several attempts to smuggle tons of drugs on the Iranian-Pakistani border.
