Jonas Bock from Schwabbruck took part in the dome show “First Dates”.

On Wednesday, the episode with him will be broadcast on VOX television.

Schwabbruck

- incredulous looks, head shakes and finally loud laughter, this is how Jonas Bock (25) describes the reaction of his grandparents when he told them about his plan: The Schwabbrucker participates in the TV format "First Dates", where the candidate is their dream partner should get to know each other while eating together.

He kept the promise to himself for a week, then he wanted to tell everyone.

Above all grandma and grandpa.

Despite all skepticism, they accept their grandson's decision.

“Typically Jonas,” they would have meant, says Bock and laughs.

"But you only do that once."

That is why Jonas Bock from Schwabbruck applied to “First Dates”

He applied after being in quarantine for days in December.

So a lot of time at home and a lot of time to watch TV.

Said dome show often flickered across his screen in the evenings.

“I can actually take part,” thought Bock, who has been single for almost two years.

Said and done.

During the telephone casting, he had to describe, among other things, how he imagined his "dream woman" to be.

But he doesn't really have such specific demands, says Bock.

"The first thing you notice is the optics, of course."

Sporty, slim, he stated as a wish.

Above all, it is important to him that his future partner is honest and helpful, says Bock.

Then it was time to wait until the production team announced that they had found the right one for him and invited him to film in Cologne.

The filming began early in the morning on a day in March.

Interviews were on the program, a lot of waiting and of course the blind date.

Jonas Bock from Schwabbruck on "First Dates": "It was funny"

"It was funny", is how Bock sums up his impressions ". He wasn't particularly nervous and the cameras were easy to hide. “I never thought, 'I have to get to know someone now' and 'I have to try it on TV now', but that I can get involved,” says Bock. He approached the matter very loosely from the start. “If something happens, it's great. And if not, don't stop. ”How the first meeting with his chosen one went will not be revealed at this point.

He'll definitely record the program, but he doesn't yet know whether he'll watch it when it first airs, says Jonas Bock.

But his guys from the Schwabbruck fire brigade have bigger plans, says Bock and laughs.

They would have thought about setting up a large screen outside for a public viewing, so to speak, and watching their comrade's TV appearance together.

Even if they didn't want to believe it at first when Bock told about his participation in the dating show.

Like his family, friends also laughed once, made a little fun of each other, and finally pestered Bock with curious questions.

“They want to know everything exactly,” says Bock.

If you want that too, you can watch the show with him tomorrow, Wednesday, August 11th, at 6 p.m. on the VOX TV station.

First Dates can be viewed Monday to Friday from 6 p.m. on VOX and can be accessed in the TVNow media library.
