The Australian city of Sydney recorded today a record number of cases of corona, while its authorities are trying hard to stop the spread of the epidemic.
According to official statistics, the state of New South Wales recorded 356 new infections during the past 24 hours, which is a record number since the outbreak of the epidemic on a large scale in mid-June last due to the mutated delta.
Since the epidemic spread again nearly two months ago, 5,805 injuries and 32 deaths have been recorded in New South Wales, while more than five million people have entered their seventh week of confinement in Sydney, the country's largest city.
Australia, with a population of 25 million, has so far recorded about 37,000 cases of corona and 940 deaths related to the epidemic.
In Germany, data from the Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases showed today that the number of confirmed infections with the Corona virus in the country rose to three million and 794,429, after 2480 new infections were recorded.
The data indicated that the number of deaths in the country since the outbreak of the epidemic has risen to 91,803, after 19 new cases were recorded.
