The Echoing middle school students recently got to hear an entertaining concert.

The school, music school and foundation had worked together diligently to achieve this.

Eching

- With a successful triad in the Manfred-Bernt-Saal, the Corona-shaped year of the Eching Music Center, in which school, music school and foundation work together on projects, came to an atmospheric and polyphonic end.

The entertaining student concert for Eching's middle school students was jointly organized by the school choir, advanced instrumentalists from the music school and professional musicians from the international Munich Foundation for the Promotion of Culture and Civilization.

Intensive practice and enjoyment of music

“Why are we singing?” Was a central question from professional singer and presenter Thomas Schütz.

And then, in addition to the correct answers from the attentive school audience, class 5 a from class leader Waltraud Stölzle was able to show a handful of arguments sung, because: "Singing is fun, singing is good, singing makes you happy, singing makes you strong", it echoed Astrid Sachs led from the stage happily at the beginning.

Not only classmates and professional singers, but also music school director Katrin Masius and Sybille Schmidtchen, director of the Echinger Kulturforum, on whose initiative the fruitful cooperation between school, music school and foundation was created, were very impressed by the performance of the choir ensemble.

The fact that such a vocal performance is already possible after such a short time can clearly be attributed to intensive practice in combination with enjoying the music.

The same applies, if there is also persistence, ambition and certainly talent, for the advanced young instrumentalists who presented a beautiful sample of their already concertante skills, such as Franziska and Anna with double bass and piano or Philipp with the Pink Panther melody on his trumpet.

For this there was appreciative praise from the professionals.

How pop and rock music sounded 300 years ago

Professional singer Schütz, supported by fellow musician Anna Gebhard am Flügel, gave an impression of how professionals have to practice intensively for their artistic profession over the years. As an example of demanding exercise material, Gebhard presented a furious etude, fast, memorized and counted 3750 notes long. "Ms. Gebhard fine-tunes her technique, just like Robert Lewandowski," Schütz drew a memorable comparison in his entertaining lesson.

With his little introduction to the history of music, he also understood very well how to give the attentive school audience an exciting access. “Many works are about love or fighting,” he announced, for example, in a love aria by Georg Friedrich Händel performed by soprano Theresa Bönig. And during an excursion into the Italian Baroque, he explained: “This is how pop and rock music sounded 300 years ago.” In his concert history, Schütz also mentioned the role of the guests. “It is important to listen,” he defined their most important role. The elementary and middle school pupils in the fourth to sixth grade proved to be a good audience and, as it should be at a concert, they did not save with applause.

School, music school and foundation are highly motivated to continue their cooperation in the Echinger Music Center with other projects after the summer break - if the corona situation allows singing and making music.
