Miesbach - On the Waitzinger Wiese in Miesbach there is a large-scale police operation on Tuesday.

One group tried to get into the police station.

Update, 1.30 p.m.: Confrontation in front of the police

A large-scale operation around the Miesbach police station took place on Tuesday morning (August 10th).

A group of 20 to 25 people tried to break into the office to rescue a relative.

This was preceded by a possible sexual offense against a child who was brought to charges the day before in Hausham.

As a result, a 22-year-old of Romanian descent was temporarily arrested.

After the young man was kept in the office overnight and the criminal investigation department had started an investigation, the incident occurred on Tuesday.

"The extended family ran up at the office, rioted and shouted," explains spokesman Martin Emig from the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria-South.

The suspects are also said to have thrown shoes and stones.

As a result, a large-scale operation was triggered, in which forces from the police headquarters in Munich and Rosenheim as well as a support command from Munich were involved.

A helicopter also circled over Miesbach to gain an overview of the situation.

Emergency services from the BRK were also called in.

The members of the group are currently being investigated for breach of the peace and possible further offenses.

For this purpose, a so-called processing line has been set up through which each member of the group is led to record their personal details and to interrogate the people.

A colleague is said to have been slightly injured during the operation, explains Martin Emig.

More detailed information, including about other injured people, is not yet available.

However, batons and pepper spray are also said to have been used to defend the group.

Initial report

Due to a larger police operation, there are currently traffic obstructions in the area of the festival area in Miesbach, said spokesman Stefan Sonntag from the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria-South.

Drivers who are familiar with the area are asked to drive around this area.

There is no danger to the population.
