The number of corona cases in Germany continues to rise slowly but steadily.
Incidence too.
The pandemic is picking up speed again.
Berlin - Within one day, 2480 new corona infections were recorded in Germany.
A week ago there were 714 fewer positive corona tests.
19 other people died of or with Corona.
Last Tuesday there were also 19 deaths.
That comes from the data of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) on Tuesday morning.
Corona incidence in Germany - and rising
The incidence is under scrutiny. Critics consider the value as a basis in the corona pandemic in Germany to be not very meaningful. You refer to the vaccination quota in Germany and want the number of hospital admissions to be taken more into account. The 7-day incidence is on the list of topics at the Corona summit * this Tuesday, along with the speed of vaccinations and the requirement to wear a mask. But the incidence is rising much earlier this summer than 2020, the RKI warned last week. Since the beginning of July, the incidence has increased, especially in the age group of ten to 34-year-olds. The age group of 49-year-olds is also affected.
The 7-day incidence * rises to 23.5 - after 23.1 on Monday and 17.9 a week ago.
The incidence is developing differently in the federal states.
Hamburg is already over the 50 mark (59.4.) Schleswig-Holstein is 44.1 and Berlin is 40.7.
NRW and Saarland have exceeded the 30 limit.

Flensburg is currently at the top with 89.8.
Berchtesgaden in Bavaria currently has a value of 51.

Corona vaccination quota in Germany
In Germany the pace of vaccination is slowing down.
There is hardly any progress.
Vaccination cans end up in the garbage.
So far, 54.8 percent of the population has been fully vaccinated.
A total of 51,928,894 people (62.4 percent) received at least one dose of vaccine.
But experts believe that this is not enough with a view to autumn.

Covid-19: Situation in the intensive care units
The number of Covid-19 patients is slowly increasing. Of the current 449 corona patients, 210 need intensive medical ventilation. This can be seen from the data in the DIVI register (as of August 9, 2021). The day before it was 429. Since the beginning of August, the numbers have been increasing slowly but steadily. The curve goes up. For comparison: a year ago (August 2020) a total of 234 people had to be treated with Covid in an intensive care unit in Germany on this day.
