The Iraqi forces thwarted an attempt to blow up one of the electric power transmission towers by the terrorist organization "ISIS" in Tuz Khurmatu district in Salah al-Din governorate in the center of the country last night.

And the Iraqi Security Media Cell said in a statement transmitted by Alsumaria News that "the security forces managed, through field follow-up and intensification of intelligence and field efforts, to thwart an attempt to blow up one of the electric power towers in the Maftoul area of ​​the Amerli district within the Tuz Khurmatu district."

And the northern electric power transmission system in the governorates of Nineveh, Kirkuk and Salah al-Din was exposed during the past week to the bombing of 20 towers, which led to the suspension of several lines and the weakness of the supply and stability of electrical energy in the northern region.

In recent weeks, the frequency of attacks with explosive devices on electric power transmission lines increased in the governorates located in the north, west and east of Iraq, which exacerbated the crisis of electricity shortage in the country.
