Federal judge María Servini cited as a witness the president of the Supreme Court of Justice, Carlos Rosenkrantz, in the case that investigates
alleged pressure from the government of Mauricio Macri
on Cristóbal López and Fabián De Sousa, owners of the Indalo Group, to sell their assets .
It is the same file for which one of Macri's legal advisers, Fabián "Pepín" Rodríguez Simón, is currently at large.
Rosenkrantz must give his testimony on August 26 at 2:00 p.m.
Precisely because of his link with "Pepín", with whom according to the investigation he was joined by
59 telephone calls between January 31, 2016 and August 31, 2018
, Servini decided
to call Rosenkrantz as a witness,
who may testify in writing whether so requested.
The appointment is for August 26.
In the file there are also several calls from "Pepín" with another judge of the Court, Horacio Rosatti, but he was not called for testimony.
At the time, when he was linked to this case by the Indalo Group complaint, from the environment of the Minister of the Court they recalled that "Carlos's relationship with Rodríguez Simon is publicly known: they met more than 40 years ago, they were companions of faculty and they became friends, and the families are also friends. The fact of being friends did not condition or condition his work. He never discussed cases or matters pertaining to the Court with him. "
The case began with a complaint from De Sousa, while he was still in custody for the
alleged multimillion-dollar fraud
that he and López would have perpetrated against the State through their company Oil Combustibles, for which they are currently being tried.
De Sousa accused Macri and several of his officials and advisers for the crimes of
illicit association and fraudulent administration
to the detriment of the national State, violation of their functional duties,
abuse of authority and embezzlement.
According to the complaint, the former president had demanded that Cristóbal López
change the editorial line of his media.
In his accusation, the prosecutor Guillermo Marijuán announced the investigation of “different events that would have taken place as of 2015 and that would have involved the exertion of pressure from public events, through journalistic notes, and in the private sphere, through of meetings in which those who were then officials of the Executive Power (including the former President of the Nation) would have participated ”.
“In this way, as of 2015, the authorities of the Indalo Group would have begun to receive warnings demanding that the group's media
be made available to the political alliance headed by Engineer Mauricio Macri
, otherwise the The economic conglomerate was going to have to face very serious consequences, "continued Marijuan.
These alleged pressures, the prosecutor described, included "
the restriction of the opinion of journalists
who were adverse, and so that negative issues for the president and his officials, as well as those related to Fabián Rodríguez Simón, were not covered." Regarding Macri's advisor who had his desk on the first floor of the Casa Rosada, Judge Servini summoned an inquest and, after his untimely departure for Uruguay, first declared him in absentia and then as a fugitive.
"Pepín" requested asylum in Montevideo as a refugee, a wish that was rejected in recent days by the specialized commission that analyzes these requests.
However, the process of his extradition to Argentina at the request of Servini
will still take a few months.
Within the framework of this file, the judge prosecuted
Sebastián Omar Antonio Paladino,
former Deputy Director of Collection of the Federal Administration of Public Revenues. Servini accused of having ordered a particular control software tool was implemented on taxpayers who were part of the Indalo Group.
