After 21 years in Barcelona, Lionel Messi will become the next player for Paris Saint-Germain.

Rosario's salary will become the highest in the French team's roster, even surpassing that of Brazilian Neymar, who so far receives the highest salary in the history of the league in that country.

According to what was revealed by the French press, the captain of the Argentine national team will receive around 40 million euros per season, in a contract that will link him to the Parisian team for two years, with the option of extending the agreement for one more.

The commitment, which will be signed after Leo undergoes rigorous medical examinations, would include a premium of around 30 million euros.

In this way, PSG will have the highest paid striker in history, since Messi's salary will be added to the salaries received by Neymar and Kylian Mbappé, which are around 30 million euros each.

Anyway, the fate of the attacker of the French team is to be seen, since there is speculation about a possible move to Real Madrid.

In case Mbappé decides to stay in Paris, he will have to sign a new contract with the club (the current one will expire at the end of this season), for which his salary could be increased and even exceed that of the Argentine.

The arrival of Messi to PSG rekindled the discussion about the French club's possible breaches of the "financial fair play" rules established by UEFA, since the salary mass of the squad would be above its projected earnings.

According to a group of lawyers that is promoting a lawsuit against PSG, the club in the French capital foresees losses of around 300 million euros for the next cycle, even taking into account the projected sales and that the Rosario has not yet signed the signature.

With the arrival of Messi, these figures would be even higher, despite the gains that the arrival of the Argentine could generate.

The objective of the financial "fair play" is to avoid the borrowing of the clubs, by not allowing the institutions to make expenses greater than their income.

Another of the purposes of these regulations is to balance the competition between clubs with unequal economies, something that seems not to be fully fulfilled when observing the PSG squad for this season.

In the event that Messi's contract with the French club is agreed in the expected figures, this will represent a significant reduction compared to the salary that the Argentine star received in Barcelona, which, according to various sources, was around 70 million euros per anus.

The renewal offer that Barcelona had initially made could not come to fruition, according to the institution's president, Joan Laporta, due to the "financial fair play" regulations of the Spanish League, which establishes that clubs they are not allowed to spend more than 70 percent of their income on wages.

If Leo's signature had been finalized, Barça's salary would have represented more than 150 percent of his earnings.
