A deadly fire broke out in Tsui Ping North Village, Kwun Tong!

At about 2 o'clock this (10th) afternoon, a high-rise unit in Cuiliu Building, Cuiping North Village, suddenly emitted heavy smoke, and soon fell into a sea of flames, and a large number of residents fled hastily.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and opened their throats to put out the fire, but a comatose man was found in the unit room, but the victim was sent to hospital and certified dead.

After investigations by the police and firefighters, it is believed that an electric wheelchair caught fire due to a short circuit of the electric wire, causing the fire.

The scene was a unit on the 20th floor of Cui Liu Building. At about 2:10 this afternoon, a 50-year-old security guard surnamed Su discovered that the unit was smoking and no one responded to the door, so he called the police.

The fire was out of control, and the unit soon fell into flames. The residents of the building escaped hastily after learning of the fire, and they all fell into the building to take shelter.

The firefighters arrived at the scene and opened their throats to fight the fire. During this time, they broke into the house and found that the 60-year-old man named Li was in a coma in a room near the terrace.

The fire alarm was put out more than 20 minutes later, but the unit involved was melted to pieces, the whole house was severely blackened, and there was also a burned wheelchair at the scene.

According to neighbors, the 60-year-old surnamed Li lived alone during his lifetime and has limited mobility. He has children, but the children have moved out.

After preliminary investigations by the police and firefighters, it is believed that an electric wheelchair caught fire due to a short-circuit of the wire, which caused the fire. The case is unsuspicious.
