The third dose of vaccine against corona increases the chance of organ transplant recipients developing antibodies twice, according to preliminary findings from a study conducted by Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva today (Tuesday).

Hospital administrators said the results prove the vaccine is effective.

They added that the patients did not report any significant side effects, and called on the organ transplant recipients to come and get vaccinated.

Many organ transplant recipients are included in the immunosuppressed group, who have failed to develop antibodies after the first two doses.

The study found that 73% of kidney transplant recipients developed antibodies after the third dose, compared with 35% after receiving the second dose.

Similar increases were seen among lung transplant recipients, with 33% versus 18% in the previous dose, in heart transplant recipients, 58% of whom developed antibodies after the third dose and 31% after the second dose, and in liver transplant recipients - 70% developed a vaccine response, while after the second dose The figure was only 47%.
