The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the silence of the United Nations towards the crimes of the Israeli occupation against the Palestinians undermines its credibility and its decisions and provides cover for “Israel” as a racist settler occupying power.

The Foreign Ministry stated in a statement today, carried by Wafa Agency, that not a single day passes without the occupation forces and its settlers committing a new crime to be added to the record of its continuous crimes against the Palestinian people, their land and property, and that the occupation has not stopped since 1948 from targeting the Palestinian presence through the policy of mass demolition.

The Foreign Ministry indicated that the occupation forces recently demolished seven homes in occupied Jerusalem, which led to the displacement of 40 Palestinians, in addition to the demolition of 3 commercial facilities and a water tank in the town of Yabad, southwest of Jenin, and razing areas of Kisan village lands east of Bethlehem to expand settlements.

The Foreign Ministry indicated that the international community's failure to hold the occupation authorities accountable for these crimes, which amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity, encourages them to persist in them, which threatens to undermine any opportunity to establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
