The Food and Health Bureau announced today (10th) that after an open tender, the Christian Hong Kong Lutheran Church has been approved for the operation and service contract of the Tuen Mun District Health Centre.
The center is located on the first floor of the Rose Garden Shopping Centre in the Xinxu section of Castle Peak Road. The operating organization will have a preparation period of up to 10 months to start operations before the end of May 2022 for a period of 3 years.
The value of the operating service contract for the entire period was approximately 330 million yuan.

The Tuen Mun District Health Center will be located on the first floor of the Rose Garden Shopping Centre, No. 133, San Hui Section, Castle Peak Road, Tuen Mun, with a total area of approximately 1,500 square meters.
The center will provide a number of primary medical and health services, including health promotion, health assessment, chronic disease management and community rehabilitation services.
The operating organization must set up multiple sub-regional centers in Tuen Mun in the first year of the operation period.
The service hours of the main center and the subsidiary center are both 6 days a week and 10 hours a day.
In addition to setting up a main operating team, operating organizations must also recruit and build a multi-professional network of medical staff from the district or neighboring areas, including doctors, nurses, full-time medical staff and Chinese medicine practitioners.
The medical care network aims to provide multiple service channels and service points to provide medical and health consultation and evaluation to the members of the district health center referred to, so as to cooperate with the operation of the district health center.
The Tuen Mun District Health Center must also coordinate with other community partners in the district who provide social welfare and medical and health services to provide referral services to people in need.

The government is gradually setting up district health centers and "district health stations" in the 18 districts of Hong Kong, so as to establish a prevention-centered primary medical system.
Following the establishment of the first district health centre in Kwai Tsing District by the government in September 2019, the second district health centre in Sham Shui Po has also commenced service in June this year.
Tuen Mun and Wong Tai Sin district health centres are expected to open in May and June next year.
