21-year-old Cameron Harin was sentenced in April to 24 years in prison in Tampa, Florida, after being found guilty of vehicle-assisted murder, but Tiktok and Twitter launched a massive campaign for his release from prison - because the punishment is too severe and too "cute" to be in jail.

In 2018, when he was 18, Harin participated with his Mustang in an impromptu car race on the street during which he hit and killed Jessica Reisinger-Reubenolt and her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter Lilia. The investigation revealed that during the race he was driving at a speed of about 250 km / h and when he hit his mother and daughter he was driving at a speed of about 70 km / h, in a residential area. At first he refused to plead guilty to the charges against him but in April this year he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 24 years in prison. The judge explained that Harin's sentence was determined based on his documented past with dangerous driving and speeding.

Harin, himself a ticketer with over two million followers, has amassed many fans who are now demanding his early release from prison on the grounds that the sentence is too severe and that he is "Too cute to go to jail.

Also the hashtag "#JusticeForCameron".

Went viral along with his videos showing his sad face during the trial and became popular on the net.

The Tampa Bay Times spoke with Harin's mother about the madness surrounding her son, who she says is "almost like an unhealthy obsession."

According to the publication, Twitter has already suspended 900 accounts that created content about Harin for violating community guidelines, which resulted in the disappearance of about 90,000 tweets.

In addition, suspicion has arisen that some of the accounts supporting him are in fact blatant, as he suddenly seems to have many fans and supporters in the Middle East and Asia.

Cameron himself recently deleted all of his ticketing videos but his fans went on their own and tens of thousands of them signed a petition titled "Cameron Harin 21 years in prison for 24 years. We demand justice for him."

Many other surfers resented the support for the convicted killer and mentioned that he was sentenced to prison for the murder of an innocent mother and daughter.

Some have argued that his punishment is exactly what he deserves, and that those who "seek justice for it" do so only because Cameron is an attractive-looking white guy and it is difficult to see such support for someone of a different race or socio-economic background.

Despite the storm on various social networks, the New York Post reported that it is very likely that Harin will remain in prison and will serve his entire sentence.
