The FinSingers are celebrating 20 years of the choir community and ten years of association this year.

From October to the end of the year the singers are planning some events and hope to be able to realize them.

Neuinsing - At least a first public appointment was successfully held in 2021: the general meeting in the Taverna Pelikanos in Neufinsing.

Chairman Wolfgang Hansjakob described it as an "extraordinary meeting" because it took place in the open.

After the initial raindrops, the 20 members present stayed dry.

"Corona, the weather, the circumstances - everything is very unusual at the moment, but you have to go through it," said the head of FinSingers.

He was very pleased "how we got through the past year together".

In addition to two online board meetings, there were a total of 34 choir rehearsals - "almost as many as normal", reported the 2nd chairman Rupert Lex. In addition to online rehearsals, music could by far more often be played in the sports center or - as recently - in the Damböck studio.

The FinSingers are particularly happy and grateful for the latter location.

“Other choirs envy us very much,” informed Hansjakob.

FinSingers are planning an anniversary concert on October 23rd

In contrast to 2019 with five concerts, there was not a single appearance in 2020.

All appointments were canceled sooner or later.

Sheet music and music rights were even acquired for the planned concerts.

"There's a lot of work and, of course, frustration behind the rescheduling and cancellation of appointments," Lex admitted.

He is all the more pleased that the FinSingers are still motivated.

Of the total of 43 members, 36 people are active, said Hansjakob, "and the number remains fairly constant".

In the second half of the year, the club is planning some dates.

The special one-hour anniversary concert is to take place on October 23 in the Atelier Damböck with two performances at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.

Depending on the number of listeners admitted in autumn and the demand for tickets, there will be an additional concert on October 24th.

On the occasion of the anniversary, the FinSingers are currently creating a free 28-page commemorative publication that will be distributed to all households in mid-September. In addition, some Advent singing dates are planned for November and December: The choir would like to perform at the Neufinsinger Advent market, if this takes place, as well as on December 11th in the nursing home and in the churches in Finsing and Gelting. The concerts may have to be relocated outdoors, said Hansjakob.

In its anniversary year, the association relies on its proven board.

In addition to the two chairmen Hansjakob and Lex, secretary Catrin Klein, Sandra Vogt were re-elected as a member of the extended board of directors, and cash auditor Nico von Caprivi was re-elected.

Only treasurer Christa Spitzweck did not stand in the new elections led by Hans-Rudolf Suhre.

The previous second cash auditor Peter Daubenmerkl will now take over her position.

Sabina Schlederer will control his work in the future.
