Judoka Sandra Obeid.. Distinguished in results and performance

Sandra Obeid emerged in judo and arm wrestling in Lattakia Police Club as one of the most important players who performed well and achieved remarkable results in the two tournaments.

In a statement to SANA’s sports reporter, 14-year-old Obaid said: “I have been attached to judo since I was four years old and trained with older republican champions than me, as I gained strength and skill from them. My first participation in local tournaments was from the governorate championship gate in 2018, and I won first place.

Obaid added: I won a silver in the weight of 57 kg in my first foreign participation and was in the Arab Championship in Lebanon in 2018, and in 2019 I won the silver of the Arab Championship in Lebanon and won the gold of the National Junior Olympiad in the weight of 52 kg.

Obaid explained that last month she won three gold medals, weighing 57 kg, during her participation in the Republic Judo Championship for cubs that took place in Damascus and the Republic Judo Championship in the women’s category that took place in Homs. It took place in Lattakia last month and was awarded the title of best player in the two championships of the Republic, in the categories of cub and juniors.

Obaid continued that she is training according to an intensive training program focused on physical fitness and technical skills, and she practices gymnastics to gain more fitness, flexibility and running in order to achieve her ambition to join the ranks of the national team, represent Syria in foreign tournaments, and stand on the podium.

As for her coach and father, Abdel Wahab Obaid, he believes that his daughter is a world champion project, has a strong physique and high fitness, and will do his best to achieve her ambition to stand on the global podiums.
