There was a large-scale police operation on the Waitzinger Wiese in Miesbach on Tuesday.

The trigger was an arrest on suspicion of sexual abuse.

The police have now also announced the strength of the mission: 135 officers were at the top in Miesbach, plus 30 members of the BRK.

+++ Update 5 p.m. +++

Now it is also clear what the members of the extended family have to be prepared for after their riot with the police.

According to police press spokesman Stefan Sonntag, the four ringleaders of the group are being investigated on suspicion of breach of the peace, dangerous bodily harm and resistance to law enforcement officers.

The operation has meanwhile shifted back to the police station, where the recording of the personal details of the "traveling" family members continues.

Further details about the dispute between the extended family and the police became known: For example, the members of the family tore a door off its hinges when they tried to break into the office.

The subsequent use of baton and pepper spray by the police resulted in minor injuries on the part of the family.

The injured policeman was punched.

Initial information that the 22-year-old suspect should be released without an arrest warrant has since turned out to be false.

The man is still in police custody (

+++ Update: 3 p.m. +++

There is also news about the actual trigger of the large-scale operation, the suspicion of sexual abuse of a child in kindergarten by the 22-year-old suspect.

As the German Press Agency (dpa) reports, there is an urgent suspicion from the point of view of the public prosecutor's office.

An arrest warrant has been applied for, said a spokeswoman for the authority.

The man was not brought before a judge until Tuesday afternoon.

He remained in police custody for the time being.

+++ Update: 2.30 p.m. +++

The mission is still going on.

According to police press spokesman Martin Emig, the situation is under control.

When people are checked, they also routinely check whether they have any previous convictions or whether there is a connection to other offenses.

The current criminal offense is trespassing and possibly the said attack on a police officer.

+++ Update: 2 p.m. +++

The exact strength of the police force is not yet known. According to press spokesman Martin Emig, forces from the entire Miesbach district and the Rosenheim and Munich police headquarters rushed to the district town. A Federal Police Support Command (USK) also rushed up. Dog handlers were also on site. Emig justified the heavy protective equipment - some police officers even wore chain mail and trousers as well as long sticks - with the officers' necessary self-protection. It could not be ruled out that participants in the group were armed with knives, for example. So far, however, there are no concrete indications of this. An escape of individual participants in a vehicle had to be considered at the beginning. The helicopter had been notified to observe and document the situation.

Arrest for sexual abuse: Police in Miesbach announce details after a large-scale operation

+++ Update: 1:50 p.m. +++

The helicopter has now turned off again.

Further details are now known about how the situation escalated in the first place.

As police press spokesman Martin Emig announced when asked, the police were reported on Monday evening of sexual abuse to the detriment of a child in a public toilet in Hausham.

On site, the officers then arrested the suspect, a 22-year-old Romanian citizen, and took him to a Miesbach police detention cell due to the severity of the allegations.

The man then spent the night there.

In the morning, as part of their investigations, the criminal investigation department brought the child and his mother, both of whom are related to the suspect, to the Miesbach office for questioning.

Suddenly, however, a group of around 20 to 25 people marched in front of the building to free the 22-year-old from arrest.

When the officials did not respond to their demands, the attackers threw stones and shoes at them.

According to Emig, a police officer was slightly injured in the process.

The police then asked for reinforcements and with combined forces they managed to drive the group in the direction of the parking lot at Waitzinger Wiese and the slope behind it.

The amount applied was then determined here.

An interpreter was called in to facilitate communication.

After a large-scale operation by the police in Miesbach: group of those prepared to use violence disbanded in a controlled manner

+++ Update: 1.40 p.m. +++

There is movement in the situation.

The police forces equipped with heavy protective equipment apparently disband the group in a controlled manner.

Again and again people are led away one by one and brought into the inner courtyard of the Miesbach police station.

As the press spokesman for the Upper Bavaria South Police Headquarters, Martin Emig, who has meanwhile arrived on site, explains to our reporter, a so-called processing line is being set up there.

Here the participants of the group are asked one after the other for their personal details and also medically examined.

This is probably also because batons and pepper spray are said to have been used by the police in the incident in the morning with an attack on a police officer.

Large contingent in Miesbach: helicopter use after escalation to arrest

+++ Update: 1:20 p.m. +++

Meanwhile, a helicopter is circling over the district town.

The Red Cross is also involved with the chief emergency doctor, Dr.

Florian Meier on site.

According to eyewitnesses, the group also includes women and children.

Even if the police are equipped with protective vests and helmets like in a large demonstration, the situation at the scene seems calm.

+++ First report at 12.40 p.m. +++

Upon request, a police spokesman announced that a group, probably Romanian nationals, went to the police station next door and were rampaging there.

Apparently even a stone was flown and a police officer was attacked.

According to the spokesman, the trigger was an arrest on Monday evening.

This took place because of a possible sexual offense.

Apparently the group wanted to get the arrested man released.

The police are currently pulling together more forces and trying to de-escalate the situation.

The group is located on the slope on the western side of the Waitzinger Wiese.

According to the police, there is no danger to the population.
