Nuremberg - An 18-year-old was attacked and beaten by three unknown perpetrators in downtown Nuremberg on the night of Tuesday (August 10).
The men had previously asked him for cash.
The criminal police are now looking for witnesses.
Nuremberg: perpetrators fled after the attack
The 18-year-old was on his way from Hallplatz towards Königsstraße at around 00:30.
There he wanted to withdraw cash from an ATM.
As the anteroom in which the ATMs are located was already closed, this was not possible for him, as stated in a press release from the Central Franconian police headquarters.
Suddenly, three unknown men came up to the youth and asked him to give them cash.
Because the injured party could not hand over any money, one of the perpetrators hit him several times in the face.
The three strangers then fled towards the main market.
Nuremberg: 18-year-old suffers injuries
The 18-year-old suffered injuries in the incident and called the police.
The patrols of the police station in Nuremberg-Mitte immediately initiated search measures, but these were unsuccessful.
The Central Franconian Criminal Police Service carried out the first criminal police measures as well as securing evidence.
The specialist commissioner of the Nuremberg Criminal Police is now investigating into robbery extortion and is looking for witnesses to the incident.
A more detailed description of the perpetrator is not yet available.
