An extended family wanted to extort an arrested relative.

Miesbach

- Again and again angry screams echo from the slope on the Waitzinger Wiese in Miesbach. Police officers with heavy protective equipment, firearms and batons have surrounded the group - including women and small children - and are watching the events. Ready to step in when necessary. In the background, more and more emergency vehicles rush in with flashing lights and sirens. Police cars, civil vehicles, motorcycles. A helicopter circles over Miesbach, dog handlers leash their animals. The rescue service of the BRK drives up to the Waitzinger Keller with 30 men, including operations management and crisis intervention. The parking lot and the surrounding streets will be cordoned off. A total of 135 police officers are on site - a major operation.

Large-scale operation in Miesbach: Large family from Romania wants to press compatriot free

The actual escalation took place early in the morning, says Martin Emig, press spokesman for the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South, to our newspaper.

Around 9:30 a.m., around 25 members of a large Romanian family traveling through Germany suddenly marched in front of the Miesbach police station.

When the officers denied them entry, the group threw stones and shoes at the building and badly damaged the entrance door, reports Emig.

The police tried to de-escalate the group, but the mood continued to heat up.

Suspected sexual abuse: police arrest man in Miesbach - relatives riot

When a police officer was attacked and injured in a “highly dynamic situation”, the forces fought against the attackers with batons and pepper spray and pushed them towards the Waitzinger Wiese. There they were arrested on the adjoining slope with reinforcements from the entire district, the Rosenheim and Munich police headquarters and a support command (USK) of the federal police. In total, two officers were slightly injured during the operation.

According to Emig, the trigger for the attack occurred the night before.

Sexual abuse of a preschool child in a public toilet in Hausham was reported to the police.

The suspect, a 22-year-old Romanian who is related to the child, was then arrested and taken to the police station in Miesbach, where he also spent the night.

Large-scale operation because of the rampaging extended family: the police in Miesbach deploy heavy artillery

In the morning, the criminal police would have started the investigation and interviewed witnesses.

But suddenly there was a racket in front of the door.

Members of the extended family tried to force their loved ones free.

The attackers did not succeed in doing this.

In the course of the mission, which lasted several hours, the police officers led away one after the other in order to record their personal details in a "processing street" set up in the courtyard of the police station and to have the minor injuries caused by the defensive measures medically treated for three of them.

One person was treated as an outpatient in the hospital.

Four ringleaders arrested after a large-scale operation in Miesbach - no danger to the population

According to press spokesman Stefan Sonntag, the public prosecutor's office is now examining four ringleaders for breach of the peace, dangerous bodily harm and resistance to law enforcement officers.

The arrested 22-year-old remained in police custody for the time being.

From the point of view of the public prosecutor's office, there is an urgent suspicion.

The man was brought before the investigating judge on Tuesday afternoon, who issued an arrest warrant.

The police officers 'heavy protective equipment - some even wore chainmail and trousers as well as long sticks - and the large number of emergency services, Emig justifies with the officers' necessary self-protection.

It could not be ruled out that participants in the group were armed with knives, for example.

However, at no time has there been any danger to the population.
