Until he fell ill with Covid-19 himself: The American radio and TV presenter Dick Farrell has now died as a result of his corona infection, according to media reports from the United States.

Farrell was known in the USA as a strict opponent of vaccinations - he regularly propagated this attitude in his shows.

At the end of July, he was hospitalized with Covid 19.

Last Wednesday (August 4th) he died at the age of 65.

Shortly before that, Farrell's friends told local broadcaster WPTV that he changed his mind about vaccination.

“He's the reason I got vaccinated.

He told me this virus was no joke and said, 'I wish I had it!' Wrote Farrel's close friend Amy Leigh Hair on her Facebook page.

She told the broadcaster that she was glad she had received the injection.

Farrell was considered an ardent supporter of ex-US President Donald Trump, whose false claims of alleged fraud in the 2020 US elections he shared.

In his broadcasts, he caused a stir by spreading conspiracy myths regarding Corona.

He cursed top virologist and White House consultant Anthony Fauci as a "power-drunk, lying freak," as the

Daily Beast

reported.

In June, Farrell called on his listeners not to be vaccinated against the virus.

Dick Farrell, whose real name was Farrel Austin Levitt, worked, among other things, for the right-wing TV station Newsmax as a presenter.

His audience was mainly in the US state of Florida, the state in which Donald Trump has set up camp.

The late radio presenter is not the only self-confessed Trump loyalist who drummed against corona vaccinations. Right-wing Fox News host Tucker Carlson is also shooting against immunization. Also in the US politicians the vaccination is instrumentalized. Florida's Governor Ron DeSantis is celebrating himself as a staunch opponent of Corona measures. Meanwhile, new corona infections in the USA reached their highest level since last February within one day. Vaccination obligations are now being debated for some professional groups.
