The mobile offshoot of the vaccination center in the form of a bus has been on a district tour since yesterday.

Immediately after the performance in Miesbach, the team drove to its first stop.

District - "We may not have the first, but the largest vaccination bus in Bavaria," joked Dr.

Thomas Straßmüller at the presentation of the mobile offshoot of the vaccination campaign yesterday morning in Miesbach.

The medical director of the vaccination center also thinks of the long white bus that has been touring the district since yesterday without a wink: "It was important to us to be able to offer professionalism."

The emergency equipment is excellent: “Everything is available in the vaccination center.” The staff - per team consisting of a doctor, an administrator and a medical assistant - is well trained.

But it is also important to Straßmüller: “We let people get out again without vaccination.” The vaccination bus also serves as a contact point for those seeking advice.

There is a place of retreat on the bus for conversations.

Vaccination bus in the Miesbach district: stops in front of schools are conceivable - the district administrator wants to keep the access threshold low

District Administrator Olaf von Löwis (CSU) explains at the presentation: "We want to keep the entry threshold for vaccinations low."

“The vaccination bus should be kept after the summer holidays, if the demand is high enough.” Then stops in front of schools are also conceivable - “if requested by the mayors of the communities who propose the locations”.

Löwis sees the bus as a sufficient opportunity to advance the vaccination campaign.

Löwis does not want to establish rewards such as the sausage method of the Kelheim district administrator for the time being: “We want a serious type of vaccination,” he says with a smile.

His Lower Bavarian colleague had recently put himself behind a grill next to the vaccination center.

Beate Faus, head of the vaccination center, was also in a good mood at the start of the bus.

She said: "I am confident that I will be able to reach those who have so far put the syringe in front of them for organizational reasons." In return, the presence in all parts of the district is a great step forward.

"Many citizens have reported back to us that the concentration on Hausham, Miesbach and Agatharied was not distributed enough."

Straßmüller also sees an advantage of the vaccination bus here: "If people don't come to us, we'll come to them."

This is especially true in the event that the vaccination bus could park in front of schools in September.

"We are allowed to vaccinate twelve to 16-year-olds, but we will not persuade anyone to do so," emphasizes Straßmüller.

However, those who are well informed and have decided in favor of the syringe can benefit from the offer.

At its first stops in Holzkirchen and Fischbachau, the vaccination bus was well attended yesterday, says Vanessa Schallmoser, press spokeswoman for the district office: "The first stop in Holzkirchen am Herdergarten was very successful." 21 vaccinations were carried out in around one and a half hours.

At the Winklstüberl in Fischbachau, 17 people had their syringes set - as of yesterday at 5 p.m.

Schallmoser: "There could be a few more people by 5:30 pm."
