American gymnast Simone Biles defended her point of view on abortion, after she accused a Twitter user of "misrepresenting" her opinions in favor of women's right to decide about their bodies.
The Olympian, who won a silver and a bronze medal in Tokyo, asked her followers on Instagram to share unpopular opinions, to which one person responded by saying that
"abortion is wrong

“I know this is going to provoke the biggest discussion and it may lose followers BUT ...
I am very much in favor of the right to choose [whether to have a child or not].
It is your body, your decision ”, wrote the athlete

“Also, for everyone who is going to say: 'Just give it up for adoption', it's not that easy and, as someone who was in the adoption system, BELIEVE ME… the foster care system is broken and it is HARD, especially for children. and young adults when they grow up.
And adoption is expensive, I'm just saying that, "he added.

Later, Biles claimed that a Twitter user “misrepresented” her opinion and “spat hate” to imply that she was against adopted children.
"DO NOT misunderstand my words. That is not what I meant at all. I did NOT say that I would rather have abortions than adopt.
What I did mean is that you should not control someone else's body or decisions. Let's face it. What matters to you is control, ”
Biles replied to user @ youngbluewooll1, who has restricted who can see his tweets.
“I have always supported and will continue to support children in the adoption system.
I WAS ONE OF THEM.
I've been an advocate for adopted children and the system, but you wouldn't know that because you don't follow me, you just like to open your mouth, ”added Biles.
