A Mexican judge has ordered preventive detention for television presenter Laura Bozzo for the sale of a property that was seized by the Tax Administration Service (SAT).
The communicator, born in Peru in 1952, supposedly carries a debt of 13 million pesos with the treasury, according to several media published this Wednesday.

The judge, at the request of the Attorney General of the Republic, has ordered the entry of the driver into the prison of Santiaguito, State of Mexico, after perceiving a risk of escape, says
El Universal.
Bozzo, who has Mexican, Peruvian and Italian nationality, had not provided the Justice with a permanent address. The crime of tax fraud, classified as serious by the recent penal reform, entails informal preventive detention.
Laura Bozzo's life is full of scandals. His television career began in Peru in the 1990s, during the government of Alberto Fujimori, with a talk show. Later, Telemundo bought the rights to its hit show
Laura in America
for broadcast on the continent. In 2002, when she was still living in Peru, she was arrested at the Lima airport for her ties to the controversial former president Fujimori and his right-hand man, Vladimiro Montesinos.
Based in Mexico for more than a decade, Bozzo has starred in programs of the heart on TV Azteca and Televisa, where each episode of her
talk show
attracted 24 million viewers. In September 2013, as documented by

, the presenter used a helicopter from the Government of the State of Mexico to visit the areas affected by Hurricane Manuel and record her television program while appearing to collaborate in rescue efforts. In 2015, she was fired from Televisa after the Mexican government opened an investigation for an alleged violation of the rights of minors.
The SAT has in recent years earned a reputation for toughness in the face of defaults by companies and personalities.
Its boss, Raquel Buenrostro, has boasted of the increases in collection among large taxpayers, which have made it possible to offset the drop in other areas due to the economic crisis of the coronavirus.
