The civil protection interests of the Algerian state of Tebessa confirmed today that the Boskeken forest fire in Jabal Al-Dukkan in the White Water municipality has been extinguished, while cooling and security operations continue to avoid any emergency.
The Algerian newspaper, El Khabar, quoted the Media and Communication Cell as saying in a post on its official Facebook page: The fire that broke out in Mount Dokan in the place called “Boskequin Forest” in the municipality of White Water in Tebessa has been controlled and extinguished, noting that cooling and security operations are continuing.
The source added: "33 fire trucks, 280 firefighting personnel, 100 soldiers and a number of trucks participated in extinguishing the fire."
The Public Prosecutor of the Tizi Ouzou District Council, Abdelkader Amrouche, announced in a press conference yesterday that the number of victims of the fires that swept several Algerian states, especially Tizi Ouzou, has risen to 69, including military personnel.
Algeria has been witnessing forest fires for several days, and the Ministry of the Interior says: It is fabricated and has arrested a number of suspects involved in igniting it.
