The Anti-Narcotics Branch in Damascus Countryside arrested a number of people for the offense of drug trafficking and seized large quantities of narcotics and a number of weapons and bombs in different areas of the province.
The Ministry of Interior stated in a statement that SANA obtained a copy of it, that the Anti-Narcotics Branch in Damascus countryside raided the hideouts of drug dealers and arrested several people, indicating that it had seized large quantities of narcotics with weapons, including 32 kilograms of hashish, 58 kilograms of heroin and 4,300 kilograms of narcotic hashish. The ministry pointed out that information was received by the Anti-Narcotics Branch in Damascus countryside about the presence of one of the most dangerous members of the drug dealer network, accompanied by several people in Kashkool locality in Damascus countryside. A quantity of 30 kilograms of hashish, a gun and three bombs were found.
The ministry added that, in the same context, the branch arrested two people in the Beit Sawa locality in Eastern Ghouta, after receiving information that they had promoted the narcotic heroin, pointing out that the branch had confiscated 58 grams of that substance prepared and equipped for sale and promotion, tools for its use, an electronic scale, and two motorcycles. They use them in the transportation process, and by interrogating them, they admitted that they had promoted this dangerous substance in Eastern Ghouta in exchange for material benefit.
The ministry pointed out that after receiving information to the branch about a group of drug traffickers promoting the drug hashish in the locality of al-Jabba in the countryside of Damascus, the branch raided the place and arrested them, despite their fortification in the surrounding mountains in that area, indicating that the search of the place they were in resulted in: 38 kilograms of cannabis was found.
The ministry indicated that after receiving information to the branch about a person promoting narcotic substances on a farm in Al-Kiswah district, a patrol was sent to the place and in a tight ambush, they arrested him and seized an unlicensed military pistol and 2 kilograms of hashish prepared for sale and promotion, in addition to an electronic scale. More than 4,300 Captagon narcotic pills were found, and by interrogation, he confessed to selling narcotics in exchange for material benefit.
The ministry added: that the narcotic substances were confiscated and that investigations are still ongoing to uncover all those involved in these cases to take the necessary measures against them.
