Is the 13-year-old struggle on the way to an end? According to a report on the TMZ website, Jamie Spears has informed the court that he is interested in reaching an agreement under which he will terminate his role as guardian of the singer • Spears' lawyer: "Satisfied but not surprised"

Drama in one of the most exciting episodes in the US:

Jamie Spears, the father of singer Britney Spears, has agreed to resign from his position as its guardian, this was reported last night (Thursday) on the American gossip website TMZ.

According to legal documents obtained by the site, the father wants to cooperate with the court in order to reach an agreed settlement.

According to the report, in the documents, the father's lawyer claimed that there was no basis for the demand to change the position, but wrote that "the father does not believe that a public struggle with his daughter is the best thing for her."

"Regardless of his official title, Mr. Spears will always be Mrs. Spears' father, he will always love her unconditionally, and he will always look after her interests," it read.

The singer's lawyer, Matthew Rosengart, told TMZ: "We are pleased but not surprised that Mr. Spears and his lawyer understand that the father needs to step down.

The fight between Britney Spears and her father has been going on for about 13 years.

As you may recall, about a month and a half ago, the Los Angeles area Supreme Court denied Spears' request to be released from her father's custody.

A week earlier, the famous pop singer had appeared in court with the aim of presenting her remarks directly in court.

"I was exploited through my father's custody," she argued about the situation in which her father controlled what was happening to her - both on a personal and financial level.
