The climate protection initiative “Germering for future” has been renamed and founded as an association.
The “Bündnis Zukunft Germering” wants to work for more climate protection locally.
The club recently drew attention to itself with a demo in front of the town hall.

- “Germering for future” was launched around two years ago.
One of the initiators was the pastor of the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Church, Michael Lorenz.
He was also elected chairman when the new association was founded.
Stephan Buchberger, who recently passed his Abitur at the Carl-Spitzweg-Gymnasium, was there from the beginning.
Buchberger now reports how the foundation came about.
Stephan Buchberger first remembers the first successful rally that "Germering for future" held in front of the town hall in 2019.
Then Corona thwarted all further actions.
The climate protection activists remained active even during the lockdown.
Buchberger: "A small group of around ten tireless activists worked on founding the association during the corona pandemic."
The founding meeting of “Alliance Future Germering - Sustainable, Ecological, Fair” then recently took place in the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Church.
At the elections due, Pastor Lorenz Steffi Pockrandt-Gauderer was chosen as deputy chairman.
According to Buchberger, the name “Bündnis Zukunft Germering - sustainable, ecological, fair” was not chosen by chance: “This is where various social actors come together to pull together, namely to promote sustainable and socially compatible environmental and climate protection.
The program for this is the future. "
According to the association, real and ambitious climate protection must now take place in order to guarantee the freedom rights of younger people and future generations. In the interests of intergenerational justice, it is important to prevent drastic restrictions in the future by acting now. It is no longer just about the general reconciliation of economy and ecology, but about concrete implementation steps and concepts in the areas of energy, transport, industry, construction and agriculture.
Breaking this global task down to the local level and tackling it locally, that is what the alliance has made its mission. As “Germering for future”, politicians have already been asked to act several times. The initiative also organized a clothes swap party, for example. That was a contribution to the sustainable use of resources and showed how one can practice climate protection in everyday life.
There should be more events like this in the future. In addition, the alliance wants to focus more on environmental education and work out visions for the Germering of tomorrow. According to Buchberger, the goals are clearly outlined: “Germering is to become climate-neutral by 2035, which includes a supply of 100 percent renewable energies as well as the change in traffic towards more bicycles and public transport as well as sustainable urban development.
The alliance therefore welcomes the “Sun Sailer” community energy cooperative project that is currently being developed in the district.
Furthermore, the members want to fight for greater citizen participation in local politics and strengthen environmental awareness among the population.
The next action of the alliance is in the sign of the federal election.
On Friday, September 10th, a survey of the direct candidates of the constituency will take place in the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Church.
