In the world of cyber espionage, places are expensive. NSO, a leading Israeli firm in this sector, has been at the center of an international scandal since mid-July for infiltrating the communications of journalists, human rights defenders and political leaders, including Emmanuel Macron. Criticism over the revelations of the Pegasus software, developed by NSO, has even reached the UN, whose experts on Thursday called for an international moratorium on the sale of surveillance technology, pending a regulatory framework. Before hypothetical rules are set, one of the main competitors of NSO, Quadream, also of Israeli origin, takes advantage of this tumult to try to place its software capable of infiltrating cell phones and computers.
