Experience has shown that this is used for shorter journeys.

There are enough charging stations in town, but one should also be set up at the train station.

Eichenau

- The entry into car sharing has now finally been completed in the municipality of Eichenau. “A good step for our e-mobility,” said energy officer Stefan Perras (CSU) at the official presentation in the inner courtyard of the town hall. There is the parking space for the Renault Zoe electric car, which is provided by the car sharing company Stattauto. "The central location certainly also contributes to the acceptance," adds Mayor Peter Münster (FDP).

In addition, everyone can use the car with an electric drive relatively easily. After the one-time online registration, proof of possession of a driver's license must be provided to the municipality if you want to book the vehicle. This is possible from one hour, but also on a daily or weekly basis. Although the car sharing vehicle is also intended to be used by community workers, Münster emphasizes: “As a community, we do not have any preferential rights. The first to book, drives. ”The range goes from 300 to 400 kilometers, as Perras council explains. "Depending on your driving style."

Most of them will use the car for shorter journeys, said Markus Lange-Stumtebeck, the Munich division manager of Stattauto. He lists errands, visits to relatives and smaller trips. At the same time, he points out that the company's car sharing network in the district is becoming ever closer. Other locations are Gröbenzell, Olching, Germering and Maisach. In the closer area there are also Aubing and Pasing. However, not all are equipped with electric cars. According to Lange-Stumtebeck, Stattauto has 20 e-cars in operation in the greater Munich area.

For the municipality of Eichenau, entering into car sharing is not a particularly daring step financially.

The calculated costs for this year are 4200 euros.

These are covered by two budget items from the areas of car sharing and town twinning.

This was approved by the local council in May with two votes against.

Likewise the agreement, which contains that Stattauto will take over the booking system and customer service.

The municipality provides parking space, electricity and checking the driver's license.

Energy officer Perras saw the only point of criticism in the long decision-making process.

The CSU parliamentary group introduced the idea back in October 2018.

At that time it was also supported by a majority.

Incidentally, you see yourself well taken care of in Eichenau with charging stations.

In addition to the car sharing stand, you can charge your e-car at two public and two privately run locations.

According to the mayor of Münster, another is to be added at the train station.
