Penzberg - The Penzberg Montessori School has said goodbye to its final classes.
A total of 39 students in grades 9 and 10 received their certificates.
"You defeated the saber-toothed tiger": With these words Matthias Stadler, class teacher of the 9th grade at the Montessori school, praised his students at this year's graduation ceremony.
The teacher praised his protégés that he had deep respect for how his class had mastered the past year and the exams.
Of the 22 students who took the qualifying secondary school diploma, 19 candidates were happy about their passing.
At the M10, all 20 students graduated.
Class teacher Andrea Borchert expressed her joy about it with a song by Konstantin Wecker: “What nobody dares, you should dare”, she sang accompanied by music teacher Joscha Arnold.
The performance ended with the sentence "Where everything is dark, there is light".
Grades celebrate separately
In general, a bit more normality was possible again at this year's graduation ceremony, according to a message from the school.
The grades celebrated separately and in compliance with all hygiene rules.
But it was allowed to celebrate together with the parents again.
Headmaster Tomas Schindhelm was also delighted: "We have very good degrees," said Schindhelm.
“For one or the other, the circumstances of this school year may even have been an advantage because it enabled him or her to concentrate better on learning,” said the headmaster.

Praise from students to teachers
In their closing speech, Maya Kerey and Nils Scherkamp from the 10th grade praised their teachers: "Thank you for the values and social skills that you imparted to us and that we were allowed to develop as we are." Paula Holzmann and Mara Nasri from the 9th grade spoke on behalf of their classmates about their pride, what they had achieved this year.

Emilia Greinwald (grade average 1.0), Mika Otten (1.3), Lukas Domaschka (1.5) and Nils Schrekamp (1.6) graduated as the best of the 10th grade.
In the 9th grade, Benjamin Braun (1.6), Elias Prietzel (1.6), Lea Schwarz (1.8) and Paula Holzmann (1.9) were the best students.
