Argentine coach Marcelo Bielsa confirmed on Thursday that he will continue another season at the helm of Leeds United.
He did so during the press conference prior to the match against Manchester United, for the first date of the new Premier League season.
"The renewal is already resolved, we need to sign. The issue is ready. One year is usual, but on that side there is nothing to worry about. Now we are going to work to start the tournament in the best way," said Bielsa, who will begin his fourth season at the helm of the Yorkshire team.
And he also took the opportunity to thank the owner of the club, the Italian Andrea Radrizzani, for the support he gives him in supporting everything that surrounds the team.
“It is not often that there is a club that allocates so much investment to improving training facilities, for example.
Leeds has made a significant financial contribution by providing the tools for an ideal preparation, ”he emphasized.
At the press conference, Bielsa was also asked about the specific chance that Leeds United will play with the public at their Elland Road stadium from the second date of the tournament, when they host Everton, on Saturday, August 21.
"Without people it is not the same. The fan who goes to the field is a special category, different from the one who only watches it on TV. They support the business, the others suffer or get excited for their team," he said.
Bielsa also confirmed that defender Diego Llorente will miss the first Premier League match in which they hope to end a losing streak of 16 games without a win at Old Trafford, the mythical setting also known as the Theater of Dreams.
