The remains of a skeleton and human bones, apparently belonging to a Jordanian soldier, were discovered yesterday (Wednesday) during light rail works near the Ammunition Hill site in Jerusalem.

During the works, the workers noticed several rifle bullets.

Following this, Israeli police saboteurs were called to conduct more in-depth searches.

After a while, other objects were found in the area: a ring, a knife, a watch and a helmet of the Jordanian army.

It is therefore estimated that the soldier apparently fell in battle on Ammunition Hill during the Six Day War.

A forensic team examined the objects, and the remains of the body were taken for further testing. Ammunition Hill CEO Keteri Maoz, Ammunition Hill CEO, said that "after we complete the identification process, we will put up a sign that will remind the Jordanian soldier."

During the famous battle on Ammunition Hill during the Six Day War, 37 Israeli fighters fell, 21 of them at Ammunition Hill and 16 in the police school compound.

On the Jordanian side, 71 soldiers were killed.
