“
Link the health pass to your ticket: Air France does it, Eurotunnel does it, the SNCF will do it. Objective: to avoid queues
”, promised on July 28 in a tweet the Minister of Transport, Jean-Baptiste Djebbari. Such a system, making it possible to check the validity of a health pass before the trip, has been tested since Wednesday 11 August by the SNCF. "
We are working on an experimental 'ready to fly' solution modeled on the 'Ready to fly' aerial model
", confirms the SNCF. Air France has been offering this service for a few weeks to certain destinations: passengers then only have to present their boarding pass to board their plane.
Some travelers who plan to take a TGV or Intercités soon have received an SMS or an email since yesterday inviting them to link their health pass to their train ticket.
By going to the voyagezen.sncf.com site, volunteer customers are invited to scan the QR code of their ticket, then that of their health pass.
It is not possible to add a ticket manually by entering its reference;
likewise, paper tickets are excluded from the system.
Then, a page confirms that the health pass is validated and summarizes the travel information (date, train number, reservation reference, etc.).
The procedure must be repeated for each trip and each passenger.

No exemption from control at the station
For the time being, the benefit of the device is quite limited for travelers. By scanning the ticket, SNCF agents are fully informed that the health pass has been verified online. In spite of everything, the presentation of this document remains obligatory during the controls which may take place on boarding, on board the trains or at the arrival station. As a result, the railway company advises "
to slightly anticipate your arrival at the station
".
This “
digital pre-verification
” device is not currently intended to be deployed on a large scale.
"
At this stage, our objective is to gauge the appetite of travelers for this service, to see how they connect to the platform and to identify any bugs
", specifies the SNCF.
Avoid the queues before boarding, so it's not for now.
