How high is the vaccination rate in Germany really?

SPD health expert Karl Lauterbach also believes that an incorrect assessment is possible.

Intensive care physicians are now demanding reliable figures.

Berlin - Have more people in Germany received a corona vaccination * than assumed?

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) * reported a difference between the official registration numbers and survey data.

Intensive care physicians are therefore now calling for a representative population survey.

“Vaccination is the key success factor in the pandemic.

We have to do everything to strengthen confidence in the vaccination campaign, ”Divi President Gernot Marx told the

Funke

newspapers on Thursday.

It is therefore important to quickly check the difference reported by the RKI in the vaccination rate of under 60-year-olds by means of an independent and representative survey.

"Reliable figures are the basis for the acceptance of the corona measures," said Marx.

If the vaccination rate in the group is actually much higher than reported, “we would have a much more relaxed situation, especially with a view to autumn”.

Corona in Germany: Lauterbach believes a higher vaccination rate is conceivable

SPD * health expert Karl Lauterbach also considers it possible that the vaccination rate in Germany * is underestimated. His observation is that the vaccination centers are no longer filling, Lauterbach told the

Funke

newspapers. “There could be two reasons, a higher level of vaccination fatigue or that the actual vaccination rate is higher than generally assumed,” he explained. Both are possible.

A current RKI survey had shown that possibly more adults in Germany are vaccinated at least once than officially recorded so far.

The difference is therefore particularly noticeable in the age group of 18-59 year olds.

While 79 percent of adults under 60 years of age said they had been vaccinated at least once in the survey, according to the official reporting system, it was only 59 percent.

According to the RKI, the actual vaccination rate is probably between the two values.

RKI reports new corona numbers for Germany: Incidence rises to 27.6

The nationwide 7-day incidence * of new corona infections has meanwhile increased from 25.1 to 27.6, according to the RKI.

On Thursday a week ago, the value was 19.4.

Within 24 hours, 5638 new infections and 17 other deaths related to the corona virus were recorded.

The incidence value in this country has been rising continuously for weeks.

The total number of corona infections recorded in this country increased to 3,805,063.

The RKI stated the total number of corona deaths as 91,834, the number of those recovered as around 3,673,700.
