The death toll from floods and torrential rains caused by torrential rains in the Black Sea region of northern Turkey has risen to 27.
AFP quoted the Department of Natural Disasters as saying that relief teams are conducting extensive searches for one missing person.
An earlier toll had indicated that 17 people had died as a result of these floods.
Northern Turkey is exposed to torrential rains during the summer, when heavy rains fall in those areas, and five people were killed by torrential rains that swept the region last year.
By contrast, forest fires have been raging in vast areas along Turkey's southern coast for the past two weeks.
