At about midnight on Saturday (14th), a private car was driving along the section of Tai Po Highway-Sha Tin Ling towards Tai Wai.
When approaching the observation point of Tai Po Road, he knocked down a wild boar about 1 meter long.
The driver of the private car was fortunately unharmed, but the wild boar was severely injured while lying on the road, vomiting blood and became incontinent on the spot.
After receiving the report, personnel from the Animal Protection Association confirmed that it was clearly dead.
It is understood that the wild boar is a female and is an adult. As it weighs 80 to 90 kilograms, personnel need to move it to the side of the road before handling it.
The driver of the private car involved confirmed that he had not drunk or drove with drugs. After assisting in the investigation on the spot, he was allowed to let him go.
