Kreuth - Two people were seriously injured in an accident with a motorcyclist on Thursday (August 12) on the B 307 near Kreuth.
At around 3:45 p.m. the accident happened on federal highway 307 between Bayerwald and Glashütte.
As the police reported, a 20-year-old from Seehausen drove his motorcycle towards the national border.
In a long right-hand bend, the biker overtook a camper combination.
He overlooked the oncoming Mercedes belonging to a family from Taunusstein.
The motorcyclist crashed into the left front side of the vehicle.
The impact triggered the side airbag in the car, the 20-year-old scratched the entire vehicle and fell.
According to the police, the young man slid about 50 meters across the street and then remained in the ditch.
Due to his serious injuries, the Austrian helicopter Heli 3 flew him to the accident clinic in Murnau.
The 43-year-old man at the wheel of the Mercedes was also seriously injured.
"Since the left exterior mirror of the car was torn off by the motorcyclist's head, it was thrown through the open window of the Mercedes against the driver's shoulder," reported the police.
The man was taken to the hospital in Agatharied by ambulance with a suspected shoulder fracture.
The main road was completely closed for an hour, which led to long traffic jams in both directions. The Kreuth fire brigade was on site with five vehicles. Both the motorcycle and the Mercedes were towed away, the police put the total damage at around 30,000 euros. The officers thank the first responders who immediately “did an excellent job”.
