Decades of continuous Israeli encroachments and massacres against the Ibrahimi Mosque in the city of Hebron amid international silence and American bias embodied in the so-called “deal of the century” that gave the green light to the occupation to persist in settlement operations and violate the sanctity of Palestinian sanctities.
In blatant defiance of international law and United Nations resolutions, and in a serious attack on the landmarks of the Ibrahimi Mosque, which is on the list of World Heritage sites, the occupation authorities continue their alleged plan to build a road and settlement bridge by carrying out excavations in the vicinity of the Haram in order to facilitate the settlers’ intrusion into it, complete its seizure and change its historical and cultural features.
The occupation authorities, which oversaw a massacre against worshipers in the Haram 27 years ago, killing 29 Palestinians, and burning its contents and belongings several times, are now escalating a series of violations, from preventing the call to prayer in the Haram to preventing worshipers from entering it and closing it with flimsy pretexts and arguments in order to complete the scheme of Judaizing and seizing Its squares and historical sites in its surroundings.
In the midst of these crimes, the international silence is still applied, reflected in the lack of accountability of the occupation authorities for these crimes, which amount to war crimes and crimes against humanity, which made the occupation persist in committing them. Which constitutes a blatant and direct attack on the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization “UNESCO” and its resolutions.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry also requested the relevant international institutions and organizations to take the necessary measures to protect the Haram and return it to its historical and legal reality, which was distorted and stolen by the occupation forces, considering that the failure to hold the occupation authorities accountable for these crimes encourages them to commit more.
The Palestine Liberation Organization, in turn, saw, according to Wafa Agency, that the occupation measures aimed at changing the historical and cultural features of the Haram and seizing its squares and historical sites in its surroundings with the aim of Judaizing them, calling for the implementation of the “UNESCO” decision issued in 2017, which considered the Ibrahimi Mosque to be a Palestinian heritage property under threat, which obligates society The international community to confront all the practices of the Judaizing occupation towards it and prevent any changes to be made to it.
The Supreme Committee for Church Affairs in occupied Palestine condemned the Israeli occupation’s attacks on the Ibrahimi Mosque and distorting its Islamic and civilized character, stressing that targeting and attacking the Haram is considered a targeting of Christian and Islamic sanctities in Palestine, foremost of which is the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is exposed daily to violations by the occupation within the framework of its settlement and Judaization plans. .
