Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has warned of the dangers of a new world war if NATO thinks of attacking his country, which does not want to turn into a battlefield.
"Do not think that I am deliberately inflaming the situation in order to launch a war, but I am not joking when I say that a third world war may break out, history knows many cases when the interests of global players intersected," Lukashenko was quoted as saying by the Russian RIA Novosti news agency. Lukashenko added: "If they try to storm Belarus, it is natural for Russia to consider this as an aggression against it, because if Belarus collapses, the Western missiles will stop near Russia's Smolensk."
Lukashenko had confirmed that the United States and the European Union had failed to implement a color revolution in his country against the backdrop of the presidential elections that took place last year, and the opposition refused to recognize its results even before its issuance.
