This Friday morning, around thirty faithful pray in the basilica of Sainte-Anne-d'Auray (Morbihan).
Almost as many tourists stroll around them, coming from all over France.
This quiet atmosphere does not augur the crowds planned for the celebrations of the Assumption in the Breton sanctuary: however, several thousand people are expected this weekend in the basilica dedicated to Saint Anne, the mother of the Virgin Mary in the Christian tradition, and the patron saint of the Bretons.

In Sainte-Anne-d'Auray as in the other sanctuaries of France, the pilgrims return for this August 15th.
These high places of spirituality have been able to adapt to this new summer under Covid.
Since last year, the Sainte-Anne-d'Auray basilica and its rector, Father Gwenaël Maurey, have thus spread out the celebrations of Saint Anne and the Virgin, from July 15 to August 25, in order to welcome the faithful in strict respect of barrier gestures.
