A weather * expert has gloomy prospects: Already on the night of Friday, August 13, Adrian Leyser from the German Weather Service (DWD) predicts for parts of Bavaria's thermal thunderstorms.
“There can be local storms with heavy rain and hail.” In addition, it remains brooding over the weekend.
But not forever either.
It will be icy cold from Tuesday.
Storm in Bavaria on Friday
The people in Bavaria on the edge of the Alps are particularly hard hit.
The situation worsened on Friday afternoon.
Storm gusts of 80 km / h, rain showers of up to 40 liters per square meter in the shortest possible time and large hailstones have been announced.
“Flooded streets and full cellars cannot be ruled out regionally,” reports Leyser.
"This is not unusual for the summer, however," emphasizes the expert.

However, it is not yet possible to precisely predict the locations and communities in which these scenarios will occur.
"Only in a timely manner - a few hours to minutes before the event - can we use satellite and radar data to locate the regions where thunderstorms are very likely and determine the probable trajectory of the thunderstorms," explains the expert.
For the regions on the edge of the Alps and south of the Danube, this means keeping an overview of the warning reports.

The weather service expects temperatures around 30 degrees by Sunday.

For older people, this is also associated with a high level of heat exposure.
The weather specialist Leyser recommends: “During the hot hours of the day, especially between noon and early evening, you should avoid any sporting activity.
Of course, drinking a lot is also important. ”He advises fans and air conditioning systems in closed rooms, but fresh air from outside also provides cooling.
Nevertheless, the following applies: "No major, extraordinary heat wave is expected for Bavaria".
