It has a long tradition: the flea market to kick off the summer holidays, organized by the Allershausen youth club.

This year there was a special feature.

Allershausen

- The first item in the Allershausen summer holiday program was really sustainable - and even for a good cause: the youth club used the first Saturday of the summer holidays for its popular children's flea market.

The offspring could get rid of discarded games and clothes in good condition and at the same time supplement their pocket money.

The youth club donates the income generated by the stand fees to the victims of the flood disaster.

There was a big crowd on the fairground: Despite the rainy summer, the children were lucky and the entire Saturday was dry and sunny, with pleasant temperatures for sellers and buyers. The offspring could eagerly and efficiently sell their discarded toys, bicycles that were too small, clothes that were no longer worn, board games and much more. For refreshment in between, the ice cream truck was parked on the Volksfestplatz during the entire flea market and refreshed young and old - happy faces at over 20 stands and in front of them. Many of the children had already set their sights on new treasures while they were selling their own things: "If I sell enough, then I want the skis from that stand over there," said little Maxi, explaining the motivation behind his sales stand. Puzzles, board games,The eight-year-old had sorted out winter pajamas and even his Pucki scooter to make room again in the nursery. “This is the first time I'm selling something at a flea market,” said the young man from Allershausen.

Conclusion: successful!

The driving force behind the event was Rosemarie Staudinger, volunteer at the youth club. “It was a successful start to the holiday with lots of fun for everyone involved,” was her conclusion. In addition to the collected contributions to the expenses of the children's flea market, further funds are to be used to benefit those affected by the flood disaster. Such as the proceeds from the open-air cinema, which takes place every Monday in August, where donations are collected. The altar boys of the parish of St. Josef organize corona-compliant cinema visits for the next generation of the congregation in cooperation with the youth club. It started with the film “Mr. Bean is on vacation ”- not as an open-air event due to the weather. With nibbles that you brought with you, there was a real cinema feeling. That the film had to be watched in the parish hall was not too tragic for the moviegoers. However, the organizers - youth club and acolytes - hope for better weather for the rest of August so that they can set up the screen outside. All donations that are collected during the five cinema days together will be forwarded directly to the flood victims by the youth club. Exactly where will be announced.
