What risks and measures do we have to take?

Maischberger feels at Karl Lauterbach - and on him because of wrong prognoses.

In addition to the rail dispute and the situation in Afghanistan, the Maischberger Talk is primarily about the current corona situation.

According to the current federal-state conference, only one thing is clear so far: From October 11th, the citizens' tests will no longer be free.

But will vaccinated people get more rights than unvaccinated people in the future? What role should the incidence value play in the assessment of the corona situation in the future? Health expert Karl Lauterbach can explain a lot in a conversation with Sandra Maischberger. But then the moderator suddenly stutters with a few critical questions about himself and Lauterbach.

But first, the show is again about the losers and winners of the week.

The first point of discussion is the current rail dispute.

The leading RND editor Kristina Dunz believes that the power struggle between the smaller GDL union, which is now on strike, and the large EVG (railway and transport union) would come at the wrong time.

However, the required corona surcharge is justified in principle, explains Dunz.

Above all against the background that the railroad managers had their bonuses paid out despite the crisis and loss of sales at DB.

Chernos Jobatay, on the other hand, comments laconically: "It is clear to me that you can't strike an ice cream parlor in winter, but hello, we have Corona!"

The fully occupied trains are not the correct picture that is now being conveyed.

Bild-Vice-Boss predicts a new wave of refugees from Afghanistan at Maischberger

The deputy editor-in-chief of the

Bild

newspaper, Paul Ronzheimer, criticizes the seemingly hasty withdrawal of the German armed forces from Afghanistan.

And the lack of a security concept for domestic employees, who would now be in mortal danger if the Taliban advance.

For Ronzheimer, the mistakes of the refugee crisis of 2015 are currently being repeated, when the international community stayed out of the conflicts in Syria: "We may see at this moment that a new wave of refugees begins."

Maischberger leads on to the next topic: Corona.

In relation to the Chancellor’s decisions, she asks the country leaders: "Has anyone understood what is in store for us now?"

For journalist Kristina Dunz, the decision is a clear “advance warning for unvaccinated people”.

The test is still considered an alternative to the other two types of evidence, vaccination and recovery, but that will not last, predicts Dunz.

Paul Ronzheimer makes that angry.

He shouts the "compulsory vaccination through the back door" and is furious: "I think it's a huge problem how people are dealt with, how people talk to us."

Lauterbach makes it clear in the Maischberger Talk: There will be no more herd immunity

Kalt Lauterbach should now create clarity. The SPD health expert defends adherence to the incidence value as the only usable tool for politics. Lauterbach rates the current results of the Prime Minister's Conference as “good decisions” and initially gives the all-clear: he considers the current dramatic prognoses of the Robert Koch Institute to be exaggerated. But he sees the 2G instead of the 3G rule for indoor events in winter as likely. 2G would mean "vaccinated" or "recovered", "tested" would then no longer be sufficient.

And then Lauterbach surprises with a new bad news: "The Delta variant is so contagious that we will never achieve herd immunity," said the health expert.

According to the expert, the new virus development has a thousand times the risk of infection compared to the alpha variant.

Specifically, this means: "Those who have been vaccinated and infected are just as dangerous as someone who has not been vaccinated." Lauterbach makes it even more dramatic: In the next year and a half there will only be two groups: those who have recovered and those who have been vaccinated - everyone else will get infected.

In addition, the vaccination protection declines over time.

Lauterbach is severely criticized by Maischberger: You scare people!

Maischberger thanks the health expert Lauterbach - and then takes the politician Lauterbach to his chest, who is running again in the upcoming federal election. The moderator believes that he has often made false statements and then did not correct them adequately, citing two examples: Among other things, Lauterbach stated the average age of intensive care patients at 48 years was far below the actual value and claimed that one percent of all children would contract Covid-19 get sick. Maischberger sternly: "You are also a politician, if you are wrong, that matters."

Lauterbach explains that he would clarify many things afterwards.

Maischberger does not accept that: “But until you clarify that, people are afraid.” And asks: “Could it be that they tweet too much?

Are too hasty? ”Lauterbach does not want to accept that:“ I read a lot of studies, ”he explains, but not all of them would subsequently prove to be correct.

In the case of the average age in the intensive care unit, Lauterbach stuttered at the explanation, admitting that the numbers were hasty estimates.

Maischberger still wants to know whether he is warning so that we will all get scared and be more cautious.

But Lauterbach clearly decreed: "No, we don't do that!" Maischberger sums up: "I can say: not everything you say is set in stone."

Left Vice-Leader Wissler wants to introduce “democratic socialism” in Germany

The third part of the Maischberger broadcast is about election campaigns.

For the first debate before the federal election, Maischberger Left Vice-Leader Janine Wissler and FDP Leader Christian Linder will exchange blows.

Neither of the two makes a secret of the aversion to the political adversary.

Maischberger asks pointedly: “Could you imagine a joint coalition?” Lindner says clearly: “No”.

Wissler packs the rejection with pun: "Probably not in this life".

Maischberger taps fundamental questions with a questionnaire.

Lindner is for free corona tests, against the gendering of legal texts, for more residential construction through simplified construction procedures and for tax breaks for medium-sized companies, but for tax increases, especially for the large digital corporations.

Wissler comes out as a “democratic socialist” and leaves open what exactly she imagines.

The left-wing vice, on the other hand, advocates basic gendering, is in favor of the abolition of the protection of the constitution and the expropriation of real estate companies.

In addition, she strives for the "peaceful revolution" because "the wealth in this world is unjustly distributed".

There should be tax relief for everyone with a monthly salary of less than 6500 euros, and wealth tax should be reintroduced.

Conclusion of the “maischberger.

the week “talks

Fast talk.

The group of experts in particular, especially

Bild

Vice-Vice President Paul Ronzheimer, seemed excited.

Above all, he kept interrupting his colleague, often arguing more "felt" than fact-oriented.

On the other hand, Wissler and Lindner argued civilized and gave insight into their different points of view.

In an interview with Karl Lauterbach, Sandra Maischberger confronted the health expert with factual criticism that seemed appropriate.
