New anti-health pass mobilizations planned throughout France

2021-08-13T06:38:48.532Z

Territorial Intelligence has identified 200 processions, raising the mobilization to around 250,000 demonstrators across the country.

While the health pass entered into force on Monday, August 9 after the approval of the Constitutional Council, the anti-health pass mobilization continues to amass crowds.

According to a note from Territorial Intelligence, which BFMTV was able to consult, "

the authorities are expecting 200 processions for the whole of the territory, increasing the mobilization to around 250,000 demonstrators

".

Information that also confirms the Yellow Number in

Figaro

, alternative counter of the demonstrators, which was able to identify "

220 events from Friday evening to Sunday noon

".

A novelty was also noted by the alternative counter for this new weekend of mobilizations: "

There are quite a few" wild picnics "such as we currently see during the week

" organized this weekend.

A movement which should be limited to "

sociologically heterogeneous parades, on the calm of which the police should be able to count,

" adds the note.

Three processions in Paris

Several gatherings are scheduled in Paris.

The first, organized in particular at the initiative of the former member of the National Front Florian Philippot, is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. from the Place de Catalogne in the Montparnasse district (14th arrondissement).

The procession must go in the direction of Port Royal, in the 5th arrondissement of Paris.

A second procession organized by a personality Gilets Jaunes will gather around the Porte Dorée in the 12th arrondissement from 11:30 am to set off at 1:00 pm towards the Place de Clichy (8th; 9th; 17th; 18th arrondissements).

A third procession will leave Place de la Bourse (2nd arrondissement) around 1:30 p.m. in the direction of the Palais Royal (1st arrondissement).

Strong mobilizations in the South

In addition to the capital, important processions will take place in Toulon with more than 15,000 demonstrators, in Montpellier with 10,000 marchers, then in Nice, Marseille and Perpignan, reveals the note.

Last week, the Territorial Assembly attributed "

the southern color of the movement to the return of numerous health measures, including the imposition of the wearing of a mask

", comments BFMTV.

If most of the mobilizations - bringing together families, children, caregivers - should take place in peace, the authors of the note warn of the risks of overflows in Lyon, Nantes and Rennes.

In the cities of Nantes and Nice, "

violence could however break out even within the mobilizations, between ultra-right activists and ultra-left activists

".

A growing movement

The mobilization has continued to grow since the start of the protest movement. On Saturday July 17, the authorities counted 114,000 demonstrators, 161,000 on July 24, 204,090 on 31, and 237,000 on August 7. If the figure of marchers differs from that of the Ministry of the Interior, the alternative counter of yellow vests also notes an increase in demonstrators in France. For Territorial Intelligence, the growing success of this mobilization is due to "

the peaceful state of mind and the calm of the processions

", which would encourage "

certain demonstrators to join the movement

".

To conclude, Territorial Intelligence notes that the demonstration should last all summer and continue at the start of the school year with "

demonstrators worried about the vaccination of children and the management of Covid-19 in schools

".
