Two teenagers set fire at the Bank of China Self-service Banking Center in Aberdeen last year. Although the fire was quickly extinguished, one of the teenagers suffered burns to their hands and feet.
The two pleaded guilty to arson earlier. The judge sentenced today (13th) that they planned to set fire in the early morning. If there is no automatic fire extinguisher, the consequences would be disastrous.
The judge reprimanded them for recklessness and irresponsibility, but taking into account the report’s recommendations and their age, the two entered the training center and had to pay 1,800 yuan.
After sentencing, the judge also advised the two to be law-abiding people and not to break the law again.
The two defendants are 17-year-old Wen surnamed Wen and Liu Weihao (19 years old). They admitted to using fire to damage ATMs, cheque machines and cash deposit machines at the Bank of China Self-service Banking Center in Wah Fu Village, Aberdeen on February 12, 2020 .

The first defendant pleaded with the wrong way to vent his emotions
The first defendant pleaded that he had used the wrong way to vent his emotions and understood that his behavior was inviting and violent; the second defendant said that he understood that his behavior was stupid and that he would be a law-abiding person in the future.
According to the case, the Bank of China has always been the target of the anti-revision movement demonstrators, but there was no large-scale demonstration on the day of the incident.
In the early morning of the same day, the two defendants put on black clothes and masks and entered the Bank of China Self-service Banking Center in Wah Fu Village, Aberdeen. The machines in the center were drenched with white electric oil while Liu held a gas tank.
Set fire to the bank center, but trigger the sprinkler system, and the system extinguishes the fire after a few seconds.
The two defendants were arrested after the incident. The first defendant admitted to the crime under caution and claimed that his hands and feet were burned by fire.
In the incident, the BOC ATM, cheque machine and banknote deposit machine were damaged by fire. The repair cost was more than 630,000, and most of the money was paid by insurance.
