New York, SANA- The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) announced today that 11.3 million children in Yemen need food

New York-Sana

The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) announced today that 11.3 million children in Yemen need humanitarian assistance in light of the continued aggression and siege imposed by the Saudi-led coalition on this country.

Reuters quoted the organization as saying in a report that, throughout the years of the bloody conflict, Yemen has been suffering from the worst humanitarian crisis in the world, with 20.7 million people, or about 71 percent of the total population, in need of humanitarian assistance.

UNICEF had warned in a report at the beginning of last July that the education of more than six million children in Yemen is at stake and they face the risk of being deprived of education, and that more than two million children of school age are currently out of school in Yemen.

It is noteworthy that the Saudi aggression against Yemen, which has been going on since March 2015, has caused the deterioration of the economic, living and health conditions in the country as a result of the blockade imposed by the forces of aggression on Yemeni ports and not allowing the entry of relief and medical aid, which led to the largest humanitarian disaster in the world, according to several UN organizations.
