Nine people who love the land, work and giving, graduates of universities and institutes, converged their ideas for a qualitative project for clean organic agriculture that was launched about 10 months ago in the village of Rima Hazem in the western countryside of As-Suwayda.

The project is based on a land area of 6 dunums, where various winter and summer vegetables and thyme are produced by drip irrigation without resorting to pesticides and chemical fertilizers. The olive and grape trees planted on the land also benefit from the services provided to reach a clean organic product, as indicated by those involved in the project during their interview with SANA reporter.

According to one of the agricultural engineers supervising and participating in the project, Omar Al-Hussein, work on the project depends on non-genetically modified varieties and organic fertilization resulting from plant and livestock residues through a pit designated for fermentation and compost manufacturing, in addition to organic control of plant extracts and natural materials, with sometimes resorting to mechanical control manually.

The project aims, as Al-Hussein mentioned, to produce clean foodstuffs to maintain health, encourage the return to organic farming, and achieve an additional source of income for those in charge of it, and job opportunities for a number of people who love to work in the field of agriculture.

The idea of the project, according to the owner of the land, Hussam Al-Hayek, came after the availability of the appropriate conditions to employ a group of energies, each in turn, to accomplish an integrated work in which the land, experience, capital, management and economy combine. .

Al-Hayek indicated that the principle of their work in the project is to share with the land by giving, not exploiting it or depleting it, indicating that the achieved production results in a good return, although it is less than traditional agriculture in terms of quantity, but it is more quality and requires more toil and fatigue to reach the production stage.

Ambitions carried by the owners of the project to transform it, as Al-Hayek mentioned, into a healthy and natural destination during the coming period, despite the difficulties they face, represented in the lack of a consumer culture around the clean organic product that also requires purchasing power to obtain it.

(I love the land and my grandfather was a farmer in Al-Hasakah governorate, and because of the war that Syria is facing, we were displaced from our land, so I settled with my family in the governorate of Aleppo, but I participated in the project with the people of As-Suwayda governorate, where I mean the land to work on it during the seasons) This is what Rose Crowe said, who calls and encourages to go to agriculture Clean Organic.

The project, which markets its production within the markets of As-Suwayda Governorate, also provides job opportunities for a number of the people of the governorate, including Samer and Munif Al-Jabr from the village of Rima Hazem, who found in it through harvesting, agriculture and others an important opportunity to support their income in these difficult economic conditions we live in.

It is noteworthy that the people involved in the project are Hussam Al-Hayek, Omar Al-Hussein, Rushdi Zarifa, Zahi Azzam, Rose Crowe, Waroud Al-Jaghami, Safa, Randa Sneeh, and Nayrouz Al-Jaramani.
