The “Marmarita Carnival” was launched in the town of Marmarita in the western countryside of Homs this evening to celebrate the Dormition of the Virgin Mary. It included cars decorated with many symbols and expressive cartoon figures symbolizing the celebration of the occasion, in addition to a number of scouting musical activities with the participation of various popular activities.
The carnival, which has become an annual tradition, toured various parts of the town, starting from the municipal square, passing through the main streets, carrying with it various songs and melodies, displaying paintings and spontaneous exhibition movements that brought joy and pleasure to the hearts of the celebrants, and a number of people with special needs participated in the celebration.
Zaher Yazigi, one of the organizers of the carnival, stated that the carnival's message is to spread peace, love and joy in the souls and love and rebuild the country together again, while the Jewel of Al-Hakim from Al-Qusair considered that the carnival is a renewal of life and that her participation today confirms that the joy of the Syrians is one in all regions and towns, while he found Yasser Ali said that participating in the march and celebration is a sign of the love and harmony of the Syrian people of all stripes.
The expatriate in the United States of America, Fawaz Yazigi, indicated his keenness every year to be in Syria during the period of the Lady's Day to participate in the carnival, which has become an annual tradition that draws joy and happiness on the face of all the people of the region.
