Homs firefighting teams, in cooperation with the people, put out this evening a fire that broke out with dry herbs and various trees in the vicinity of Akum village in the Al-Qusayr area in the southwestern Homs countryside.
Dr. Abdul Masih Duaij, head of the forestry department in the Homs Agriculture Directorate, told SANA reporter that the Homs firefighting teams and the people were immediately able to besiege the fire, control it, put it out, and carry out the process of cooling and monitoring now, noting that the area affected by the fire is estimated at about four acres.
In the same context, Brigadier General Hassan Ammar, commander of the Homs Fire Brigade, stated to SANA reporter that the regiment’s operations room received a report about a fire in a carton warehouse on Iskenderun Street in Homs city. .
